Dr. Amanda Gesselman, head of research analytics at the Kinsey Institute, details the results of her research that examined the social impact of LiveJasmin.
Two studies were conducted for the purpose of this research. The first study examined a survey of over 8,000 Americans and their preference for online sexual intimacy as well as their desire to evolve such relationships. The following year, LiveJasmin members and models were surveyed to understand the effects that their interactions have on one another.
For the second study, members were asked what criteria they had when looking for a partner on LiveJasmin. To the researchers’ surprise, they found that less than half of those surveyed selected a model based on physical characteristics alone. Most commented on their emotional connection to a model and expressed admiration for traits such as being an excellent listener.
One of the biggest advantages of the site is that a personal connection can be created without any personal information needing to be shared. Thus, LiveJasmin functions as a safe and secure environment for both members and models that enhances mental, sexual, and emotional wellbeing.
Amanda Gesselman added that the site reinforces that online technology is not scary, but rather a safe space to form social bonds.
